Why ALT Direct exists

Boards of education across Japan are increasingly hiring ALTs directly rather than through dispatch companies. However, recruitment notices are scattered across dozens of municipal websites, making it easy for qualified candidates, particularly experienced ALTs already in Japan, to miss them. ALT Direct exists to close that gap.

How it works

ALT Direct compiles publicly available recruitment information from boards of education across Japan and presents English-language summaries in a single, searchable directory. When an applicant is interested in a position, they are forwarded directly to the board of education's official recruitment page. ALT Direct does not mediate, advise, or participate in any part of the hiring process; that remains entirely with the board of education.

Commitments

To ensure quality and integrity, ALT Direct follows these principles:

• ·Every listing is manually reviewed before publication.
• ·Every listing is removed once its application deadline passes.
• ·Listings are published as submitted unless corrections are requested.
• ·Every listing links directly to the board of education's official recruitment page.
• ·Posting positions on ALT Direct is free for boards of education.
• ·Browsing the directory is free for applicants.
• ·ALT Direct does not accept donations from boards of education.
• ·ALT Direct is funded by its operator. Voluntary donations from the wider community help cover hosting and upkeep costs; donations do not influence listings, visibility, or any form of special treatment.

While ALT Direct strives for accuracy, errors may occur. Any errors will be corrected promptly, with sincere apologies. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome.
