Can I get a direct-hire ALT job from outside Japan?
Usually not. Most Boards want applicants already living in Japan.
- Many ask for a work visa you already hold. Some sponsor one, but rarely for someone abroad.
- Interviews are mostly in person, at your own expense.
- Moving costs are rarely covered.
Most people come to Japan first through JET or a dispatch company, then apply to Boards directly.
