Your watchlist and job alerts
Following a prefecture, being emailed when something opens, and turning that off.
How do I get notified when a new job comes up?
Add a prefecture to your watchlist, and email about openings there is switched on by default. A watch covers the whole prefecture, so any Board of Education in it can trigger the email, not only the one you were looking at.
The switch is under Job alerts in Settings, and it can be turned off at any time.
How do I watch a prefecture?
Open the map, select the prefecture, and press “Add to watchlist”. If it is somewhere you would move to rather than where you already live, one short question follows before it is saved.
An account is needed for this, because a watchlist belongs to an email address. Signing in is passwordless: either a Google account or a one-time link sent to your email.
How do I change or remove the prefectures I watch?
The watchlist is kept on the ALT Jobs Map. Open a prefecture there to add it, and open it again to take it off.
Removing a prefecture also takes it out of the anonymous demand total for that area.
How do I stop the emails?
Job alerts have their own switch in Settings, and turning it off stops the mail about watched prefectures while leaving the watchlist itself intact.
Feature announcements are a separate switch on the same page, so one can be off while the other is on. Every email also carries an unsubscribe link.
Why does the site ask me to complete Recruit Me?
Two separate things follow from it. Answering puts you into the anonymous totals a Board of Education sees for its own prefecture, which is what those totals are for.
It also covers alerts about jobs a Board posts directly on this site. Only the fact that the survey was completed is used for that, never the individual answers.
